Who we are
About the African Community in the Diocese of Augsburg...We, the Catholic African Community in the Diocese of Augsburg, Southern Germany Region, were officially founded on 1 September 2014 by Bishop Konrad Zdarsa. The parishioners are mainly from Nigeria and Cameroon and other African countries.
The team of the parish consists of Rev. Vitalis Emesi SMMM (leading parish priest), Rev. Gerhard Groll (priest for cooperation), Sr. Veronika Häusler (pastoral worker), Mr. Ngoma Lelo Toussaint (caretaker and sacristan) and Mrs. Martina Zuanel (parish secretary). This team is supported by the Speaker's Council. The Council of Spokespersons consists of 6 members who meet every two months to discuss the welfare of the community. At the moment we have five groups in the parish: the Women's Association, the Men's Group, our altar boys, the Ju-Ki group (children and youth) and the parish choir.
Worship service
Holy Mass is held every Sunday, trilingual (German, English, French) if possible, in the Thaddäus Centre. The church of St. Wolfhard is at the disposal of the parish; the parish office is also located in the same building.
In addition, we celebrate special services on church feasts, the beginning of school, the anniversary of the parish, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day, Thanksgiving and the African Weeks in Augsburg.
In addition to the services, we have other offers: among others, catechesis - Stations of the Cross devotions - Marian devotions in May - Pentecost novena - Rosary in October - Adoration at the beginning of the month and at the turn of the year - ecumenical Bible evenings.
